At NAE, your privacy matters to us. This privacy policy explains which personal data we collect when you use our webshop, place an order, or contact us. We also explain why we use this data, how we protect it, and what rights you have.

NAE processes personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

1. Who is responsible for your data?

NAE is responsible for processing your personal data. In this privacy statement, "we," "us," and "NAE" refer to NAE Services.

2. Which personal data do we process?

Depending on how you use our webshop, we may process the following data: first and last name, address information, email address, phone number, order and payment data, information about your order, return, or contact with customer service, IP address, device data, browser data, and data about your webshop usage, newsletter preferences when you sign up, and cookie and advertising data when you provide consent.

We do not process special personal data, such as medical information, unless you voluntarily share it and it is necessary to address your request.

3. Why do we use your data?

Processing and delivering orders
When you place an order, we need your data to process your order, handle payment, package and ship your order, contact you about your order, and handle returns, warranty questions, or complaints. The legal basis for this is the fulfillment of the agreement between you and NAE.

Customer service
When you contact us via email, social media, or a contact form, we process your data to answer your question, complaint, or request. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in providing good customer service, or fulfilling an agreement if your question concerns an order.

Administration and legal obligations
We are required to retain certain data, such as invoices and order information, for our administration and tax purposes. The legal basis is a legal obligation. Basic administrative records in the Netherlands must typically be retained for seven years.

Newsletters and offers
When you sign up for our newsletter, we may use your name and email to send you NAE offers, product updates, and news. You can unsubscribe at any time via the unsubscribe link at the bottom of each email or by contacting us at our customer service email. The legal basis is your consent, or, where legally permitted, our legitimate interest in marketing to existing customers. You always have the right to object to direct marketing.

Webshop improvement
We may analyze data about webshop usage to improve our website, products, advertisements, and services. For analytical and marketing cookies, we request consent where legally required.

4. With whom do we share your data?

We share your personal data only when necessary for our service delivery, for legal obligations, or when you have provided consent. NAE may share data with the following parties: Shopify (for managing and operating our webshop), payment providers (for processing payments), shipping partners (to deliver your order), accounting and administration software (for financial administration), email marketing software (when you have signed up for emails), analytics and advertising partners (only with your consent via our cookie banner), and government agencies or other parties when legally required.

We make agreements with third parties processing data on our behalf regarding secure and careful handling of your information. We never sell your personal data to third parties.

5. Data transfers outside the European Economic Area

Some of NAE's service providers, such as Shopify, Google, Meta, or Klaviyo, may process personal data outside the European Economic Area. When this occurs, we ensure appropriate safeguards are applied, such as using European Commission standard contractual clauses or another valid transfer basis.

6. How long do we retain your data?

We retain personal data no longer than necessary for the purpose for which we collected it, unless legally required to retain it longer. In practice, we follow these retention periods: order, invoice, and payment data for a maximum of 7 years unless a longer legal period applies; customer contact and service inquiries for as long as needed to address your question, then a maximum of 2 years; newsletter data until you unsubscribe or withdraw consent; and cookie data according to the period specified in our cookie settings or cookie declaration.

7. Cookies

NAE uses cookies and similar technologies to keep our webshop functioning, improve your shopping experience, and, when you provide consent, measure webshop usage and advertisements. Cookies are small files placed on your device when you visit our webshop.

We may use functional cookies (necessary for the webshop to work properly, such as for your shopping cart and checkout), analytical cookies (help us understand how our webshop is used), and marketing cookies (help us make advertisements more relevant and measure campaign results).

For non-essential cookies, we request consent via our cookie banner. You can adjust your preferences at any time via our cookie settings.

8. Security of your personal data

We take appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data against loss, misuse, unauthorized access, unwanted disclosure, and unlawful alteration. Examples include a secure connection to our webshop, limited access to personal data, secured systems of our service providers, strong passwords and access control, and regular review of our processes and systems.

While we handle security carefully, no internet connection or storage method is completely risk-free.

9. Your privacy rights

Under the GDPR, you have various rights regarding your personal data. You can ask us to provide access to your personal data, correct inaccurate or incomplete data, delete your data, restrict data processing, transfer your data to you or another party, object to processing based on legitimate interest, or withdraw previously given consent.

To exercise any of these rights, send an email to our customer service with the subject line: "Privacy Request." We may request additional information to verify the request is genuinely from you. We typically respond to privacy requests within one month.

10. Filing a complaint

If you are unsatisfied with how we handle your personal data, first contact us via our customer service email. We will work with you to find an appropriate solution. You also have the right to file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority.

11. Automated decision-making

NAE does not make decisions based solely on automated processing of personal data that would have legal or similarly significant consequences for you.

12. Changes to this privacy policy

NAE may adjust this privacy policy when our services, legislation, or data processing methods change. The most current version is always available on our webshop. We recommend reviewing this privacy policy regularly.
